George Russell Wins Chaotic Baku Grand Prix in Formula 1

George Russell claimed victory at the Baku Grand Prix on Saturday, narrowing the gap in the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship battle. Starting from pole position, the British driver maintained his lead through a chaotic race to secure his third win of the season.

Championship leader Kimi Antonelli, his Mercedes teammate, finished fifth, leaving the gap between them at 66 points. Max Verstappen finished second, just a tenth of a second behind Russell, while Isack Hadjar took third place.

Franco Colapinto crashed into Alpine teammate Pierre Gasly, eliminating both. Reigning world champion Lando Norris was also caught in the incident and forced to retire.
