Beitar Jerusalem Fined 32,750 Euros by UEFA Over Fan Behavior
Beitar Jerusalem received a hefty fine and a suspended away fan ban from UEFA following fan pyrotechnics and racist behavior during European qualifiers.
Beitar Jerusalem was eliminated from the UEFA Conference League qualifiers on August 13 by Austria Wien following a dramatic penalty shootout, but the club only received its disciplinary punishment for fan pyrotechnics and racist behavior over the weekend.
According to the ruling by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body, Beitar Jerusalem was fined 2,750 euros for lighting pyrotechnic devices and 30,000 euros for racist and/or discriminatory behavior by its supporters. In addition, the club was handed a full ban on selling tickets to its fans for one away match in UEFA club competitions. This away ticket ban has been suspended for a probationary period of two years starting from the date of the decision.
It is worth recalling that at the beginning of August, Beitar was already fined 25,000 euros and received a suspended sentence of one match behind closed doors for a year, following the lighting of pyrotechnic devices during their home match in Romania against AEK Larnaca.
