Israel is closely monitoring the investigation into the attempted crash of a flydubai flight after the Omani co-pilot was transferred from Saudi Arabia to the United Arab Emirates. While the exact scope of Israel's direct involvement remains sensitive, Jerusalem expects continuous updates from Abu Dhabi. Sources indicate the interrogation is led by the State Security Department (SSD), reporting directly to President Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ), with strict confidentiality surrounding public updates to avoid diplomatic embarrassment for the Emirates.

Reuters reported that Israeli officials are expected to question the co-pilot, who could face the death penalty under Emirati law if convicted. The investigation is still in its early stages, balancing UAE-Oman relations with the gravity of the incident. Ties between Israel and the UAE have strengthened significantly following Operation Roaring Lion, during which Israel supplied an Iron Dome battery and operational personnel to intercept Iranian missiles, earning praise as a reliable ally.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a video that the perpetrator underwent Islamist radicalization and targeted passengers, emphasizing that those responsible will pay a heavy price. This aligns with statements from US President Donald Trump, who suggested potential Iranian involvement. Meanwhile, Yaniv Hayun, the passenger who intervened and subdued the Omani pilot, met with US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, receiving praise and a signed MAGA hat for his extraordinary bravery.
