Creator of Iconic Blue Star Flight Simulator Returns with Epic Fury IAF
Adi Shemony, co-creator of the 1997 Israeli flight simulator Blue Star, has launched Epic Fury IAF, a free web-based successor developed entirely using AI tools.

Three decades after the release of the iconic flight simulator "Blue Star", original developer Adi Shemony has returned with a brand-new, browser-based spiritual successor titled Epic Fury IAF. The original 1997 game, developed by Pixel and masterminded by the late F-15 pilot and CEO Rami Weitz, left an indelible mark on a generation of Israeli gamers. Now, Shemony has resurrected that nostalgic experience using modern artificial intelligence tools.
Building Epic Fury IAF with AI
Unlike traditional game development cycles that require large teams and heavy downloads, Epic Fury IAF was built entirely using AI in just four intense months. Shemony utilized automated prompts for code, 3D assets, text, and graphics, enabling a single developer to achieve what once required a massive studio.
"I've been a software developer for over 30 years, and I didn't write a single line of code in this game—just thousands of prompts. Nobody writes code anymore," Shemony noted.
Despite the power of AI, crafting engaging gameplay required meticulous human oversight. Fine-tuning elements like cloud modules took weeks of iterative testing. Furthermore, generating realistic Hebrew radio chatter for pilots proved particularly challenging due to language limitations in current audio models, requiring hundreds of attempts to achieve natural-sounding dialogue.
Instant Accessibility and Israeli Heritage
Designed to be played directly within a web browser without installations or Steam accounts, the simulator allows users to jump into the cockpit in under thirty seconds. The project serves as a heartfelt tribute to the Israeli Air Force (IAF), featuring timely missions such as intercepting missile launchers and neutralizing maritime threats.
Shemony emphasizes that the game caters to both veterans and novices, featuring simplified flight controls, an AI co-pilot, a flight school for training missions, and free-flight arenas. Following positive community feedback and the establishment of a dedicated Discord server, the developer plans to expand the platform with historical campaigns, a user-friendly mission editor, and online tournaments.
