Military training exercises conducted by the IDF's Nahal Brigade showcased the Eitan wheeled armored personnel carrier fitted with the Iron Fist hard-kill active protection system. Developed by Elbit Systems, Iron Fist provides 360-degree defensive coverage against anti-tank guided missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, unmanned aerial vehicles, and kinetic tank rounds in both open and urban environments.
The Eitan, weighing approximately 35 tons, represents a significant modernization milestone for IDF mechanized infantry. Capable of reaching speeds up to 90 kilometers per hour, the wheeled combat vehicle transports a crew of three alongside nine infantry soldiers, matching the defensive technological sophistication of Merkava main battle tanks.
British Military Reliance on Israeli Defense Technology
European governments frequently maintain dual diplomatic stances, coupling political criticism with substantial procurement of Israeli defense technology. A prominent example is the United Kingdom, where subsidiaries such as Elbit UK operate extensively. During recent military drills, the British Army's 16th Air Assault Brigade utilized the Recce Strike Training System (RSTS) developed by Elbit UK, according to Army Technology reports.
More than 300 British soldiers participated in Exercise Pegasus Athena, utilizing the RSTS simulation environment to coordinate reconnaissance, targeting, and joint firepower deployment. Elbit Systems maintains a dominant global market position in military simulators, highlighted by a $71 million contract secured with the UK Ministry of Defence to supply training systems for Challenger 3 main battle tanks and Boxer armored vehicles under the British Army's Vulcan project.
