Gadi Eisenkot Warns of Israel's Path Ahead of October 7 Anniversary
Gadi Eisenkot warned against Israel's trajectory ahead of the October 7 anniversary, calling for urgent changes to military service, war management, and accountability.

Leader of the "Yashar!" party, Gadi Eisenkot, delivered a special statement ahead of the October 7 anniversary, warning against Israel's current trajectory and calling for urgent national change.
"If we continue on the current path, Israel will very soon cease to be the country we know," Eisenkot stated, adding, "This is an emergency call to save the country we fought for."
Eisenkot outlined a series of issues demanding immediate attention, including military service exemptions for certain sectors, the management of the war, and the ongoing absence of an official inquiry into the October 7 intelligence and operational failures.
"We must not accept the miserable attempt to bury the truth about the gravest failure in the country's history without drawing conclusions and taking responsibility," Eisenkot said.
Haredi Society and Coalition Silence
Eisenkot addressed recent controversies involving the ultra-Orthodox community, criticizing statements from leadership and the silence of government coalition members regarding anti-IDF sentiment.
Shira Shapira, mother of the late Aner Shapira and a "Yashar!" party candidate, also spoke at the event, emphasizing the transition from personal grief to public service and national responsibility.
Commitment to Reconstruction
Shapira highlighted the imperative of rebuilding the nation's social fabric, supporting bereaved families, released hostages, reservists, and the wounded, while honoring the memory of those who fell in defense of the country.
