Police Uncover Major Narcotic Prescription Fraud Ring in Kadima-Zoran
Israeli police and the Ministry of Health dismantled a prescription fraud ring, arresting a Kadima-Zoran resident and a northern pharmacist for trading narcotics.

A major pharmaceutical fraud ring involving the illegal trade of narcotic drugs has been uncovered following a joint investigation by the Central District Fraud and Cybercrime Unit and the Ministry of Health. Authorities arrested a 74-year-old resident of Kadima-Zoran and a 36-year-old pharmacist from the north on suspicion of forging medical prescriptions, impersonating patients, and illegally acquiring restricted substances for illicit trade.
Investigation and Seizures
The investigation was launched following a report from the Ministry of Health regarding suspected forged prescriptions used to purchase drugs classified as dangerous substances. During a search of the primary suspect's home in Kadima-Zoran, police discovered approximately 20 doctors' stamps specializing in pain management and neurology, dozens of fake identity cards, and health fund cards belonging to other individuals.
"This involves drugs classified as dangerous substances under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, and uncontrolled use can cause severe health damage or even death," police emphasized.
In addition to the forged documents and stamps, investigators seized large sums of cash, including over 200,000 shekels, roughly 20,000 euros, and about 15,000 dollars, suspected to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade.
Arrest of the Pharmacist
Further investigation led to the arrest of a pharmacist from the north, born in 1990, who allegedly sold the drugs to the main suspect in exchange for cash payments. Investigators examined the operations of a pharmacy in the Sharon region and analyzed the connection between the pharmacist and the central suspect.
With the completion of the investigative steps, the case file has been transferred to the Central District Prosecutor's Office, which intends to file formal indictments against both suspects.
