Israeli police forces foiled an assassination attempt in progress and arrested an armed hit squad linked to the Hariri crime syndicate. The dramatic arrest took place moments before the planned hit, enabled by covert intelligence operations conducted by Lahav 433 national fraud unit over several days.

Following intelligence tips, officers tracked the squad's movement from central Israel toward the northern region. At that point, detectives from the Coastal District's central unit decided to execute a pre-emptive interception to prevent a fatal shooting before it could be carried out.

During the police operation, four suspects were detained, including three residents of Shefa-Amr in their twenties and another resident of Ibtin in his forties. Three of the suspects were caught wearing masks and carrying M16 rifles equipped with silencers.

The suspects were transferred to the Coastal District's investigation offices. Police are scheduled to bring the detainees before the Haifa Magistrates' Court to request an extension of their remand.
