Democrats Leader Slams Unity Talk with Netanyahu Ahead of October Vote
The leader of The Democrats party criticized President Isaac Herzog and warned against a post-election unity government with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The leader of The Democrats party launched a fierce attack on Wednesday against the possibility of forming a unity government with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the upcoming elections, accusing President Isaac Herzog and various commentators of paving the way for such a move before the public has even spoken.
Warning Against Unity Scenarios
Speaking to supporters, the party leader warned against what he termed a clear and immediate danger to the future of the state. He criticized President Herzog directly, stating that efforts are already underway to normalize the prospect of a unity coalition with Netanyahu, which he argued is designed to demoralize opposition voters and foster a sense of inevitability regarding Netanyahu's continued rule.
"Do you want to forget October 7? Forget who is responsible for the worst disaster in the country's history. Who abandoned the hostages. Who funded mass evasion during wartime," he declared.
Rejection of Coalition with Netanyahu
He strongly ruled out joining any administration led by Netanyahu, committing his political faction to remaining outside such a framework under any circumstances. He urged voters not to allow their ballots to be co-opted into returning the current leadership to power.
In response to these remarks, National Unity chairman Benny Gantz posted a sharp critique on social media, writing: "Yair, don't be the Ben Gvir of the left."
