David Alaba is closing in on the next destination of his career. According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, the former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich defender has reached a verbal agreement with Udinese, and the parties are now expected to take formal steps toward signing.
Alaba, 34, concluded a five-year stint at Real Madrid at the end of the 2025/26 season and left the club on a free transfer. Since then, he made four appearances for the Austrian national team at the World Cup, but remained without a club while waiting to make a decision about his future.
According to reports, there was no shortage of interest in the player, but Udinese now appears to be in the best position to sign him. Romano reported that a verbal agreement has been reached and the parties will now move to the formal stage before signing.
In Italy, it was noted that for Udinese, this signing can be described as a "dream," as the team currently ranks 13th in Serie A.
