American cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike is in advanced negotiations to acquire Israeli cybersecurity startup ORION Security for approximately $500 million. Founded in 2024, ORION develops an AI-powered platform that autonomously protects sensitive corporate data based on contextual understanding.

Leadership and Funding

The company was established by CEO Nitay Milner, a former product leader at Epsagon, which was acquired by Cisco, and CTO Yonatan Krainer, former head of application security at WalkMe. ORION currently employs 20 people and is rapidly expanding its R&D centers in Israel and New York. In February, the startup secured a $32 million funding round, bringing its total capital raised to roughly $38 million.

Investors and Autonomous DLP

Key investors in the Israeli firm include Norwest Venture Partners, IBM, PICO Venture Partners, and Lama Partners. ORION's autonomous solution replaces traditional Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools, which typically require intensive manual labor to configure organizational security policies.

Traditional DLP tools rely on thousands of manually defined policies that require continuous maintenance, generate endless false positives, and fail to provide airtight protection.

By leveraging dedicated AI agents, ORION monitors and prevents data leaks continuously and automatically. The platform analyzes the full context of every data movement, including content sensitivity, data history, user identity, and intent, stopping leaks before they occur.
