Israeli Court Sentences Man to 11 Years in Prison for Child Sex Offenses
The Central District Court sentenced a man to 11 years in prison and ordered him to pay heavy compensation for multiple sex offenses committed against his niece and nephew when they were children.

The Central District Court sentenced a man to 11 years in prison for multiple sex offenses against his niece and nephew when they were children. The defendant was convicted following a plea bargain based on their testimonies, after the acts took place over a period of about three years, starting some 17 years ago.
Details of the Conviction
According to the amended indictment, the defendant, who was about ten years older than the victims and a regular presence in their family home, exploited his close relationship to abuse them during visits. He committed offenses against his niece when she was between the ages of 10 and 13, including touching her in intimate areas and forcing her to perform sexual acts. Concurrently, he committed indecent acts against his nephew between the ages of 11 and 12, sometimes during family dinners, bus rides, and even at a synagogue while wrapped in a prayer shawl.
Court Ruling and Compensation
In the sentencing decision, the judges emphasized the severity of the acts, the abuse of trust, and the systematic nature of the abuse over the years. The court ordered the defendant to pay compensation totaling 160,000 shekels to the two victims—100,000 to the niece and 60,000 to the nephew.
"Your testimony broke through the walls of silence and shame, and ultimately, the truth came to light and received the court's recognition," the judges wrote to the victims, praising their immense courage.
