The police announced today that they have arrested suspects in the murder of Farid Mazlavat in the city of Maghar in June, following a two-month investigation. The suspects, residents of Maghar, Arraba, and Wadi Salama, were taken for questioning and will be brought to court for a remand hearing. The court has issued a gag order on their names.
The police announced this morning (Tuesday) the arrest of five suspects on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Farid Mazlavat, a resident of Maghar, who was shot to death in the city last June.
The incident occurred on June 6 in the afternoon, when a report was received at the police dispatch center regarding gunfire at Mazlavat in the heart of the city in the Lower Galilee. Medical teams summoned to the scene were forced to pronounce his death. The investigation into the murder was assigned to the Serious Crime Fighting Unit (YALAP) of the Kinneret District.
After two months of intelligence gathering and investigative actions, police raided several targets and arrested five suspects - residents of Maghar, Arraba, and Wadi Salama. They were taken for questioning, at the end of which the police will request to extend their detention in court.
At the request of the police, the Magistrate's Court in Nazareth issued a gag order on the names of the suspects and their identifying details.
