Carson Edwards, the American basketball guard who joined Zalgiris Kaunas in the summer of 2026, was arrested in Lithuania for drunk driving. Lithuanian police confirmed that his Volkswagen Tiguan was stopped during a routine enforcement operation in Kaunas, where a breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of 1.07 ppm.

Edwards, a former Purdue standout and NBA player for the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, has built a stellar European career with stints at Fenerbahce, Bayern Munich, and Virtus Bologna. He was previously linked with Maccabi Tel Aviv, which held advanced talks with him.

Prior to the incident, Edwards played in a domestic league match, contributing 11 points and 6 assists in 17 minutes of play. Zalgiris Kaunas management is currently awaiting further developments regarding the legal fallout.
