Cameri Theatre Honors Ran Danker and 2026 Season Winners
The Cameri Theatre held its 2026 awards ceremony, honoring Ran Danker and the cast of Cabaret alongside top theatrical talents and creators of the season.
The Cameri Theatre hosted its annual awards ceremony on Monday morning, celebrating the outstanding actors and creators of the 2026 theatrical season. The prestigious event gathered the elite of the local theater community to recognize exceptional talent both on stage and behind the scenes.
One of the most prominent productions of the year was the musical Cabaret, set in a Berlin nightclub during the early 1930s against the backdrop of the rise of Nazism. Ran Danker, who won the award for his performance in the show, shared his excitement upon receiving the honor:
"It is a bit difficult to summarize a role; I feel it has only just begun and that I have only started to explore it. This is simply a gift for life, and you probably get something this big only once in a lifetime."
Alongside Danker, actresses Hani Furstenberg, Lihi Toledano, and Laura Rivlin were also honored for their roles in Cabaret. The list of acting winners featured an impressive lineup of talent who excelled this year.
Keren Mor, Assaf Pery, and Anastasia Fein won awards for their performances in A Streetcar Named Desire. Actors Amos Tamam, Nadav Nates, and Roy Miller took home awards for their roles in the play Singer.
Meanwhile, Eran Mor, Ola Schur Selektar, and Tom Chodorov were recognized for their work in Winter Funeral. Additionally, Irit Kaplan won an award for her role in Cleaning the Mind, and Amit Shoshani was named the Promising Actor of the Year.
In addition to the acting accolades, awards were presented to the creative minds behind the scenes. Bat Hen Sabag won the Original Play award for The Retreat, sharing the category with Keren Hovav and Maayan Even for The Illusion. The Directing awards went to Irad Rubinstein for The Retreat and Shir Goldberg for her work on A Streetcar Named Desire.
