Three suspects, including a civil servant and contractors, were arrested this morning during a covert investigation by Lahav 433's economic crime unit, suspected of bribery and illegally employing Turkish foreign workers.

According to the police, the civil servant allegedly accepted bribes from contractors in exchange for avoiding enforcement and inspection duties at construction sites employing unauthorized workers from Turkey. Investigators suspect that some of the bribe money originated directly from the foreign workers.

The investigation also revealed suspicions that the contractors were involved in smuggling these workers into the country across the border with Jordan, charging them fees for illegal entry. Three suspects were arrested and two others were detained for questioning.

The primary suspects will be brought before the Petah Tikva Magistrates' Court this afternoon at 17:00, where police intend to request an extension of their detention.
