Good news for hundreds of thousands of Israelis: a grant of up to 2,500 shekels directly to the account
The "Household Economy" grant for active reservists is paid annually, and in 2026 some eligible individuals may receive an additional amount of up to 1,250 shekels. The money is transferred directly to the bank account, with no need to submit an application.
Active reservists may find an additional payment in their bank account during this period: the "Household Economy" grant, intended to assist with household expenses, including payments such as municipal tax (arnona) and electricity. The basic grant stands at 1,250 shekels per year and is transferred directly by the Mofet center to the bank account updated in the IDF systems.
In 2026, the grant may be higher for those who performed at least 45 days of reserve duty during the year, under any type of call-up order, and are assigned to a unit in one of the established activity tiers. The supplement is 1,250 shekels for those serving in units at the A+ tier, 1,065 shekels for the A tier, and 815 shekels for the B tier. Accordingly, the total amount can reach 2,500 shekels.
Eligibility for the basic grant is granted to those defined by the IDF as "active reservists." According to official information, this status is given to those who are part of the reserve array and performed at least 20 days of reserve duty over a period of 3 consecutive years or part thereof. For those serving in the combat array, the threshold is 15 days, subject to established conditions.
When is the money paid? In the months of August and November of each year, a report of those eligible for the grant is produced. Reservists recognized as active reservists by May will receive the grant no later than September. For reservists whose eligibility was included in the report produced in November, the payment will be transferred no later than December. The grant is transferred directly to the bank account as it is updated in the IDF systems.
The payment does not require the reservist to submit an application. After the report of eligible individuals is produced, an individual examination of eligibility conditions is conducted, and then the money is transferred by the Mofet center. The supplement set for those who performed at least 45 days of reserve duty in 2026 and are assigned to units in the relevant tiers is a one-time payment for 2026.
In addition to the "Household Economy" grant, there is also a separate benefit of a grant for summer camps and after-school programs in the amount of 1,500 shekels, subject to established conditions. In this case, the payment dates are September 1st for those who completed the 5 required days of service in July, October 1st for those who completed the required days in August, and December 1st for those whose status as an "active reservist" was opened on November 1st.
