Good news at Ben Gurion Airport: European airline returns to Israel this week
The month of August began with happy news for thousands of Israelis with the return of various aviation giants. Over the weekend, several companies announced their return to Israel, which will expand competition for the Tishrei holiday vacations.
After many foreign airlines canceled their flights to Israel following the war with Iran, Ben Gurion Airport continues to recover. At the peak of the summer season, another airline is sharing happy news for thousands of Israelis and officially announcing its return to Israel.
The Romanian airline, AnimaWings, is returning to fly to Israel. It is expected to resume flights from Tel Aviv to Bucharest this week, starting August 10.
As recalled, last Friday, two aviation giants announced their return to Israel. The Dutch company KLM will resume operating the line between Amsterdam (Schiphol) and Tel Aviv in less than three weeks, on August 25. In addition, the American airline United Airlines is expected to resume its flights to Israel on September 8, in a format of two daily flights on the Newark-Tel Aviv line.
The Lufthansa Group also recently announced a significant increase in its activity in Israel ahead of August, with the addition of dozens of flights per week and the return of two of the group's subsidiaries.
The month of August is shaping up to be one of the busiest at Ben Gurion Airport, with about 2.6 million passengers expected to pass through the airport during the month. Due to the expected congestion, the Authority published a series of recommendations for passengers. Among other things, it is recommended to arrive at Ben Gurion Airport at least 3 hours before the departure time, to check in in advance as much as possible, and to check in advance the terminal from which the flight departs and the updated departure time.
