A shoe store clerk in Bnei Brak was allegedly attacked by a group of youths who sprayed him with pepper spray, kicked him, and threw shoes at him. According to his testimony at the Ramat Gan-Bnei Brak police station, the incident took place a few days ago during the afternoon hours, prompting an ongoing police investigation to track down the suspects.
"Suddenly one of them approached me, and for no reason at all pulled out a can of pepper spray and sprayed my face. After that, several of them came closer, kicked me, and threw shoes at me," the victim recounted in his police statement. Investigators suspect that the group entered the store and provoked the clerk, an avrech working at the location.
According to the investigation, one of the suspects attempted to extort him with threats, claiming he would file a false police report alleging the clerk had harmed him. When the clerk responded that security cameras covered the store and that the suspect was lying, the group launched the violent assault.
Before deploying the pepper spray, the main suspect covered his head with a hoodie. Within seconds, the group fled the scene, leaving the clerk bruised and severely traumatized by the ordeal. Police are currently analyzing footage to identify all perpetrators.
