Ben Gurion International Airport has released its traffic report for September, highlighting a significant 14.81% increase in passenger volume compared to the same month last year. A total of 2.27 million passengers passed through the airport, driven largely by the timing of the Jewish holidays.

Israeli Carriers Lead the Market

Israeli airlines continue to expand their market share, transporting 1.2 million passengers in September, which accounts for 53.5% of all travelers through Ben Gurion. This represents a 10.25% increase from the previous year. Larnaca remained the highest-volume destination, while Greece topped the list of countries by passenger volume.

"Israeli airlines continue to strengthen their position, handling over half of all international traffic at Ben Gurion Airport amid shifting regional dynamics."

Impact on Emirati Airlines

Flydubai ranked as the sixth-largest carrier at the airport in September, serving 75,000 passengers. However, following recent regional developments at the end of the month, the airline suspended its flights to Israel. Meanwhile, Etihad Airways transported 59,400 passengers, positioning itself seventh as Israeli carriers prepare to expand operations into the UAE market.
