Bank of Israel: Financial support program for 4,500 IDF soldiers
The Bank of Israel has launched a financial support program for 4,500 IDF soldiers facing economic hardship. The initiative is backed by a 7.2 million shekel budget.

The Bank of Israel hosted an event on Thursday to mark the launch of a consumer and financial support program for IDF soldiers facing economic difficulties. The event was held in the presence of Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Amir Yaron, Chairman of the Class Action Fund, Judge (ret.) Yaakov Shinman, and Head of the IDF Manpower Directorate, Major General David (Dado) Bar Khalifa.
The program, a joint initiative of the Bank of Israel, the Class Action Fund, and the IDF Manpower Directorate, is designed to help soldiers without an economic safety net achieve cash flow balance, strengthen financial resilience, and provide tools for long-term stability. Approximately 4,500 soldiers are expected to receive personal support over the next three years, with about 1,500 participants selected annually by the IDF's social services and commanders.
The program's budget, provided by the Class Action Fund, stands at 7.2 million shekels. Participants receive a tailored support package, including economic mapping, budget construction, financial management support, and access to digital technological platforms.
Two groups were selected to operate the program: the "Pitchon Lev" organization in collaboration with Rise Up, and the "HaTashtit" organization in collaboration with Citizen Impact.
"This project is an opportunity for us at the Bank of Israel to provide knowledge to soldiers serving during this challenging time. To give them tools that will help not only during their service, but also further down the road. In my view, this is not an 'expense' but an 'investment.' Investment in education today will bear fruit tomorrow and will be reflected in the continued growth and prosperity of the Israeli economy," said Prof. Amir Yaron.
