According to the reports, the brawl broke out at a cafe in a well-known hotel in the north of the country. In addition to the two women, the confrontation involved other family members.
The brawl began following an argument between the coach's wife, Dan Adam, and his ex-wife, Huda al-Gharbawi. There are different versions regarding who started the argument that escalated very quickly into physical violence. Later, family members and local police officers separated the parties. Mohamed Shams, Adam's lawyer, issued a clarification to the media that her condition is good and her health is fine.
The Egyptian coach made headlines around the world during the summer following the national team's achievements in the World Cup. The "Pharaohs" reached the round of 16, where they lost to the Argentina national team. Hassan is also remembered as the one who waved the Palestinian flag as a sign of support after a victory over the Australian national team.
Dan Adam and Hossam Hassan met in 2015 and married that same year. The first meeting took place while the coach was working at a training camp with the "Al-Masry" football team. Adam noted that she knew him even before that as one of the Egyptian football stars. The couple has two children. Hassan also has children from his ex-wife, al-Gharbawi.
