Avi Bitter: "He cancelled my order, how much can one take?"
The singer, director, and music club owner in Rishon LeZion launched a sharp attack against the left, claiming discrimination against Mizrahi Jews and revealing how his business faced a boycott due to his political stance.
Legendary singer and film producer Avi Bitter has been managing a Mizrahi music club in the industrial zone of Rishon LeZion in recent years, bringing together the best singers of the genre every week. As someone who feels deeply connected to the Israeli street, Bitter has recently been issuing warnings in media interviews, as he did this time as well.
In an interview with Itamar Fleischman and Uri Melamed on the radio station "Galey Israel", Bitter sharply attacked the left:
"The left does not like us, the Mizrahi Jews. They don't hate Bibi - they hate us. They hate Bibi because he represents us."
He later referred to the protesters:
"This handful of anarchists has the power to cause us problems. They are champions of provocation. How much can one eat and take? They do what they want and do not get punished. That is what fires us up - if some Mizrahi person had done such a thing, he would have gone to prison for a few years."
When host Uri Melamed expressed concern about provocations at polling stations in cities identified with the Likud on election day, Bitter replied:
"The war could start there, let's hope not, but if it starts there they will get beaten to death. I really hope and I don't want that to happen. One needs to breathe and be restrained."
Alongside these warnings, Bitter shared a personal incident involving a business boycott due to his political positions:
"I have a small pub. I ordered fried food, and I sent the supplier a WhatsApp sticker of Bibi making a V sign. He cancelled my order and told me: 'Don't call me anymore'. Look where we have reached."
