On the day of the internal elections in Likud, the chairman of the party's court and former Knesset member, attorney Michael Kleiner, estimated that the party will succeed in winning the elections in October as well. In a conversation he held on Monday with Prof. Aryeh Eldad and Ron Koffman on 103FM, he estimated that this time too, Likud will succeed in changing the momentum as the election date approaches.
"There is a certain recipe for election campaigns - Likud starts behind, the election propaganda begins, and suddenly Likud's arguments sound a bit more innovative, and a drift towards Likud begins. Towards the end he wins big," he said. "Likud's task is very easy: it needs to come to the people who voted Likud last time and say: 'Guys - you were right last time'. That is a bit easier than saying 'you were wrong'".
Kleiner also warned against a split on the right. "In the 2019 elections, we lost the elections because of Bennett, Feiglin and Eli Yishai, who together wasted almost 10 mandates for us," he recalled. Regarding Moshe Feiglin's proposal to establish a technical block for all these parties, he said that "the proposal is very logical, but not everything that is logical is implementable". When asked if the difficulty stems from the ego of the party members, he answered in the affirmative.

Later, Kleiner addressed the reserved spots on the Likud list for the Knesset. "There was a decision by 5,000 Likud convention delegates to allow reserved spots. The party chairman received this consent by a majority of almost two-thirds of the votes." According to him, "this is subject to the approval of the Likud secretariat. If the Likud secretariat thinks that a certain reserved spot is not better than what we have today, it can choose not to approve it".
Kleiner added: "If they bring a 'heavyweight' who brings you three or four mandates, then they have an interest to support; if they bring someone who is a cosmetic decoration for the list, they can also oppose".
