The Aroma cafe and restaurant at the Tel Aviv Port complex has been closed for 30 days following suspicions of employing an illegal resident. Tel Aviv District Police Commander, Superintendent Haim Sargrof, signed an administrative closure order for the business, which will remain in effect through November 9, 2026.

The incident began last Friday when officers from the Tel Aviv North station conducted targeted enforcement in crowded areas. During the operation, officers entered the venue at the port complex and located an individual staying in Israel unlawfully who was allegedly employed there in violation of the law.

Following the discovery, a criminal investigation was launched to clarify the circumstances of the employment. Simultaneously, licensing officers initiated an administrative procedure to close the establishment in accordance with police authorities under the Entry into Israel Law.

Police stated that law enforcement will continue to act decisively against the employment, transportation, and harboring of undocumented individuals in order to maintain public safety and security.
