Armando Bacot Landed in Israel: "I'm Sure We Will Connect and It Will Be Great"
The new Maccabi Tel Aviv center arrived in the country ahead of the start of training: "I heard from players who played here that Tel Aviv is the most beautiful city in the world."
Armando Bacot, the new center for Maccabi Tel Aviv, landed early this morning in Israel ahead of the start of preparations for the 2026/27 season. The American center, who arrived on a flight from Boston, joined Oded Kattash's frontcourt after a rookie season in the EuroLeague with Fenerbahçe. Bacot joins Oshae Brissett and Shane Hunter, who arrived in Israel yesterday, with additional foreign players of the champion expected to arrive later this week ahead of the resumption of training.
"The flight went well. Ten hours, but not bad overall," said Bacot upon his arrival. "I've heard only good things about Tel Aviv from players who played here, that it's the most beautiful city in the world and the best place to be. I'm very excited to be here and experience it. I feel like we have an excellent and competitive roster, a lot of good, young players, and I'm sure we will connect and it will be great. I look forward to showing a high level of performance, winning, and doing what I can to contribute."
