Following Eyal Nagar: Second Senior Criminal Arrested in Massive Raid

It was permitted for publication today, Wednesday, that Shay Benamo from Kiryat Gat is the second senior criminal arrested yesterday in a case managed by the Lachish Central Unit on suspicion of involvement in a protection and extortion racket. Along with him, his brother, Michael Benamo, was also arrested. The court extended the detention of the two for six days.

In the coming days, investigators from the Lachish Central Unit are expected to continue questioning those involved in the case. The police estimate that the evidence gathered over the past year may lead to indictments against some of the suspects.

As part of the investigation, undercover agents were deployed to infiltrate the delivery system allegedly used by the suspects, documenting their activities.

As previously reported, criminal Eyal Nagar was also arrested yesterday during a massive wave of arrests, in which dozens of other suspects were detained. Most of them are expected to remain in custody in the coming days, in accordance with court decisions.

Footage of Nagar's arrest at a hotel in the center of the country, where he was staying at the time, was published for the first time last night in the central edition of News 14. Nagar, considered one of the central figures in the criminal world, is suspected of involvement in a protection money collection mechanism and taking over the delivery and distribution sector in Ashdod and its surroundings.
