After attempting to flee: Police arrested two suspects for arson of vehicles in Akko
Officers from the Akko station opened an investigation over the weekend following a report of two vehicles that caught fire in the city. Forces identified the suspects' getaway vehicle, blocked their path, and arrested them. The detention of the two was extended at the Magistrate's Court in Haifa until tomorrow.
The Israel Police arrested two suspects over the weekend for involvement in the arson of two vehicles in the city of Akko. The arrest was carried out by officers from the local station of the Asher district, who opened an investigation upon receiving a report at the 100 emergency center regarding vehicles catching fire. Upon receiving the call, police forces arrived at the scene and began conducting searches in the area. Subsequently, investigators uncovered the identity of the vehicle used by the suspects to commit the arson and flee the scene. The officers blocked the suspects' vehicle as they attempted to escape and carried out their arrest on the spot. Following the incident, the suspects were brought to a hearing for the extension of their detention. In accordance with the investigation's findings, the Magistrate's Court in Haifa granted the police's request and extended the detention of the two until tomorrow (August 31). The police state that the investigation into the case is ongoing.
