After 12 years: Chef Ran Shmueli sells his successful restaurants for millions
The leading chef is selling his full holdings in the successful brand to his business partners in a massive deal that will transfer ownership of the branches in Tel Aviv and London to them. At the same time, Shmueli is already working on developing a new and intriguing venture.
The end of an era at one of the most successful chef restaurants in Israel: Chef Ran Shmueli, one of the leading and most influential figures in the local food scene, is selling his full holdings in the "Claro" brand to his business partners, the Kolber family.
The deal, estimated at a sum of millions of shekels, transfers full ownership of both the parent restaurant in the Sarona complex in Tel Aviv and the international branch established in London to the family members.
As revealed today, Sunday, the separation between the parties was done in good spirits and a friendly atmosphere, after a natural exhaustion of the partnership was identified, and not following a personal conflict. "Claro", which opened its doors in 2014 in a preserved Templar building in the Sarona complex, established the "Farm to Table" vision in Israel and became one of the most stable and sought-after culinary institutions in the country.
The branch in London that opened last year presented Shmueli with difficult challenges, in the shadow of stormy protests and a complex atmosphere on the streets of the British capital. Despite leaving the "Claro" empire, Shmueli is not ending his professional journey. The chef will continue to lead exclusively the prestigious event complex "Maarava" in Kibbutz Ga'ash, and at the same time, he is already working on the development of a new and intriguing culinary venture.
