Anthropic, the artificial intelligence giant behind the Claude family of models, has revealed staggering financial figures in a leaked draft prospectus reported by the Wall Street Journal. According to the document, the company's net loss surged from $13 billion to $80 billion in the first half of 2026, alongside long-term commitments totaling $450 billion for the coming decade.

Skyrocketing Revenue and Massive Losses

During the first six months of 2026, Anthropic recorded revenues of $16.3 billion, marking a dramatic increase compared to $1.1 billion in the same period of 2025. While revenue grew by an exceptional 1,381%, net losses expanded by 515%. The prospectus reveals that $72 billion of the net loss stems from one-time financing expenses associated with private market fundraising rounds. Analysts note that despite these extraordinary figures, the company remains burdened by heavy operational commitments.

Cloud Infrastructure and Rising Liabilities

To fuel its aggressive expansion, Anthropic has entered into non-cancellable commitments worth $450 billion for cloud computing equipment and infrastructure over the next seven to ten years. These include $111 billion allocated to Google and $110 billion to Amazon, alongside $31 billion earmarked for Microsoft. Combined with upcoming leases for specialized AI data centers, total future infrastructure spending is projected to reach $600 billion.

The draft prospectus explicitly notes that these massive infrastructure demands are "more than what our partners are willing to supply, while they increasingly view the company as a competitor."

Executive Compensation and Philanthropy

The Wall Street Journal disclosure also shed light on the compensation of co-founders Dario and Daniela Amodei. Despite managing a multi-billion-dollar enterprise, their base salaries remained at $655,000 last year. Total compensation, bolstered by stock and option grants, reached $18 million for CEO Dario Amodei and $16.5 million for his sister Daniela. Both founders have committed to donating 80% of their earnings to philanthropic causes.
