Missing Israeli Ami Yogev Found Dead on Mount Olympus in Greece
The body of 46-year-old Israeli Ami Yogev from Modiin was found on Mount Olympus in Greece after weeks of searching following a fatal fall.
About two and a half weeks after he was last seen, the body of 46-year-old Ami Yogev, a resident of Modiin, was located on Mount Olympus in Greece. He apparently fell from a great height during his climb.
The rescue delegation from "Haverim Mehalchim" located him, stating that their volunteer team worked under difficult conditions as darkness approached. Yogev's last contact with his family was on September 20, when he spoke with his mother, Shosh Debi, and sent photos from the trail.
His mother recounted that he had flown to Athens on a spur-of-the-moment decision and maintained daily contact until he stopped responding near the summit. Search efforts ultimately ended with the tragic discovery of his remains.
