Significant Payment Relief for Israeli Families: Subsidy Applications Open

Joyful news for parents of toddlers: The Ministry of Labor opened the online system today (Monday) for submitting applications for tuition subsidies in daycare centers and recognized family daycares for the 2026-2027 school year.

Approximately 120,000 children in these frameworks are expected to benefit this year from a comprehensive digital service reform, aimed at shortening processing times, reducing bureaucracy, and saving parents the turmoil of collecting and submitting documents.

The main innovation in the updated system is direct integration with the National Insurance Institute and the Population Authority. Thanks to automatic data synchronization, tens of thousands of salaried and self-employed parents will no longer be required to upload or send forms and documents to receive their subsidy level.

In addition, the ministry has launched the "To You" service, through which ongoing updates on application status will be sent directly to parents via SMS, phone call, or email, eliminating the need to wait for a service representative. A new, accessible digital personal area has also been established for the public for independent status checks at any time.

Another important economic update for the family budget concerns the start date of eligibility: starting this year, the subsidy will be granted retroactively from the toddler's first day in the framework, regardless of the actual application submission date (unlike in the past, when the retroactive refund was limited to only one month from the submission date).

The level of the subsidy continues to be determined according to threshold conditions, the calculation of income per capita in the family, the child's age, and the recognized framework in which they stay.
