AliExpress Launches Back-to-School Sale and Lowers Free Shipping Threshold
The Chinese e-commerce giant is offering discounts of up to 80% on a wide range of school and office supplies. The company claims it will reduce average delivery times to 14 days and has lowered the minimum threshold for free shipping from 169 to 139 shekels.

Chinese e-commerce giant AliExpress has launched its annual "Back to School" sale, which will run until August 28. The promotion features discounts of up to 80% on a broad spectrum of products, ranging from school and office supplies to technology and home goods.
As part of the sale, the company has announced several upgrades to the shopping and delivery experience for Israeli consumers. Most notably, AliExpress claims it will shorten the average delivery time to 14 days, with some shipments expected to arrive in as little as 9 days. This improvement is intended to help consumers receive their international orders in time for the start of the school year.
Furthermore, the threshold for free home delivery has been lowered from 169 shekels to 139 shekels. This move aligns the company's terms more closely with those of Amazon, which offers free home delivery on selected items for purchases exceeding 49 dollars.
Additionally, the pickup point selection process has been upgraded, allowing consumers to specify the exact address and location for their package delivery in advance. This feature, introduced last month to address consumer complaints regarding inconvenient, automatically assigned pickup locations, is now being highlighted as part of the back-to-school marketing campaign.
Despite these improvements, it is important to note that most orders are shipped from China. Even with the reduced delivery times, consumers should plan ahead, as these orders are not suitable for last-minute purchases.
