Qatari Network AJ+ Exploits Channel 14 Controversy Targeting Gadi Eisenkot
Qatari platform AJ+ exploited a recent controversy on Israeli Channel 14 involving Gadi Eisenkot, amplifying domestic political tensions to depict Israel as discriminatory.

AJ+ Broadcast Targets Israel Over Channel 14 Controversy
Qatari-backed media outlet AJ+, focusing on younger audiences, has capitalized on a recent controversy involving Israel's Channel 14 and political figures. The platform released a video alleging that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s camp is in a state of panic over his political rival, Gadi Eisenkot.
The video points to remarks made on the program 'The Patriots', where host Yinon Magal used a controversial phrase regarding Eisenkot's ethnic background. While defenders argued the term stemmed from criminal slang denoting a puppet figure, political figures across the spectrum condemned the phrasing as racist.
International Framing and Media Exploitation
The Qatari network utilized the incident to frame Israel as institutionally discriminatory. The presenter asserted that the remarks reflect a broader societal condescension within the political establishment, particularly concerning Mizrahi figures.
'The regime's supporters are willing to hurl insults at the ethnic origin of his rival Eisenkot in order to protect his seat,' the presenter stated, further claiming that previous controversies involving derogatory remarks about Moroccans highlight a systemic pattern.
Political analysts note that international state-backed media frequently leverage domestic political squabbles in democratic nations to amplify narratives regarding social tensions, especially targeting audiences in the Middle East and North Africa.
