Israel Airports Authority Announces Fee Hikes for 2027 Impacting Flights
Aviation fees at Israeli airports are set to rise in 2027, driven by CPI updates and exchange rate fluctuations, which may lead to higher ticket prices for passengers.

Flight prices may rise again next year as aviation fee tariffs for 2027 are expected to increase, potentially impacting ticket prices for passengers. The annual update follows the mechanism outlined in the Israel Airports Authority fee regulations.
Tariff Updates and Exchange Rates
The 2027 update reflects a 1.54% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Additionally, changes in dollar-denominated tariffs are influenced by the exchange rate. The Authority emphasizes that the fees themselves are set in shekels, while the dollar amounts are adjusted according to the linkage mechanism stipulated in the regulations.
Changes to Passenger Departure Fees
One of the primary fees directly affecting flight costs is the passenger departure fee. In 2027, the fee at Terminal 3 will stand at $37.68, compared to $33.87 in 2026—an increase of $3.81 per passenger. Passengers departing from Terminal 1 will also pay a higher fee, which will reach $17.36 compared to $15.61 in 2026, marking an increase of $1.75 per passenger.
"Fees and levies are part of the costs that airlines and travel agencies take into account when pricing tickets, meaning the change may be rolled over, in whole or in part, to the final price paid by the passenger."
The updated tariffs are scheduled for publication by October 1, 2026. This means that even if base airfares remain unchanged, the incidental costs associated with flying may increase starting in 2027.
