Major international carriers are resuming operations at Ben Gurion International Airport, marking a significant milestone for Israel's aviation sector. British Airways and Iberia are returning to the Tel Aviv route, alongside new domestic and international connections.

British Airways has officially resumed its flights to Israel, operating a daily service between Tel Aviv and London Heathrow. The first flight from London touched down, and outbound services to the UK capital are scheduled to resume. Meanwhile, Spanish carrier Iberia is also returning with daily flights, bringing both members of the IAG group back to the Israeli airspace after suspensions due to the security situation.

Iberia last operated flights to Israel in August 2024 via its low-cost subsidiary Iberia Express, following previous wartime suspensions. British Airways had suspended its operations in late February, repeatedly postponing its return dates before finally reinstating the route.

In addition to the European carriers, El Al is relaunching direct flights from Tel Aviv to San Francisco after a hiatus of six and a half years, a route that was originally halted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, Air Haifa has commenced domestic operations, launching flights between Ben Gurion Airport and Eilat using ATR 72-600 aircraft departing from Terminal 1.

American aviation giant United Airlines is expanding its US network from Israel as well. The carrier is scheduled to resume direct flights from Ben Gurion to Chicago O'Hare International Airport, followed by the reinstatement of the Washington Dulles route with three weekly flights.
