Air Canada Resumes Direct Toronto-Tel Aviv Flights With 30% Price Hike
Air Canada resumes direct flights from Toronto to Tel Aviv on November 30 with a 30% price hike, as economy tickets average $1,155 for December travel.

Air Canada is set to resume direct flights between Toronto and Ben Gurion Airport on November 30, operating four weekly frequencies after halting the route in March. While the return restores direct connectivity to Canada, ticket prices have surged significantly compared to last year.
A price check for December round-trip tickets, including luggage, indicates an average economy fare of $1,155 with Air Canada, marking an approximate 30% increase from about $890 in December of the previous year. Passengers seeking alternatives with layovers can save around 16%, with British Airways offering an average of $968 and Lufthansa at $990, though travel times range between 13 and 18 hours.
In business class, the price gap is substantially larger, averaging $6,700 on Air Canada compared to $3,777 on British Airways and $3,870 on Lufthansa, creating potential savings of up to $2,900. Industry experts note that while the resumption improves accessibility, the lack of direct competitors on the Toronto route means fares remain high.
