The Israeli Ministry of Agriculture will finance a substantial portion of crop insurance for wheat, barley, and oat growers in the upcoming season, allocating up to 35 million shekels. The insurance protects farmers against income loss caused by drought, adverse weather, or price drops, with state subsidies varying by region based on risk levels.

State support is structured progressively to assist areas most vulnerable to natural disasters and drought. South of the drought line, where risks are highest, the state will cover 80% of the insurance premium. In the Beit She'an region, state funding will reach 65%, while in the rest of the country, the government will finance 40% of the cost.

According to the ministry, the program was designed to address escalating climate change challenges. The comprehensive insurance scheme combines protection against revenue losses resulting from reduced crop yields with coverage for direct natural damage, ensuring agricultural continuity during dry years.
