National Insurance Institute Update: In-Person Services Resume and Early Benefit Payments

After a break of approximately two weeks, the branches of the National Insurance Institute are returning to public reception tomorrow. Starting in the morning, in-person services will be fully restored at branches that had been closed to the public since August 19.

As previously announced, between August 19 and September 2, the institution's branches were closed to the public, with the exception of the Bnei Brak branch. During this period, it was not possible to schedule telephone appointments with representatives. However, the National Insurance Institute clarified that services remained available through online inquiries and the personal account portal on their website.

Available service channels during the closure included a live chat with a representative, the national call center *6050, additional telephone support lines, and online submission forms. With the closure period now over, branches will return to normal operations tomorrow morning. Clients are advised to check the specific opening hours for each branch on the institution's website.

At the same time, the National Insurance Institute recently announced the advancement of payment dates for several benefits in September, ahead of the Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot holidays.

Unemployment benefits and income support for September will be paid earlier than scheduled for Rosh Hashanah. The payment date has been moved from September 14 to September 8, an advancement of 6 days.

Later in the month, another adjustment will be made for the Sukkot holiday. Long-term benefits will be paid on September 22, 2026, instead of the usual date, the 28th of the month. This also represents an advancement of 6 days. The benefits affected by this early payment include: old-age, survivors, disability, disabled child, special services, mobility, work injury, alimony, rehabilitation, nursing, and prisoners of Zion.
