At $30 Billion: Nvidia on the Way to a Massive Investment That Will Shake the AI Market
The chip giant is in advanced talks to invest in a company that has recorded a meteoric rise in its annual revenue, with a clear target already set for an independent IPO in the coming years.

The startup Perplexity continues to show dizzying growth in the artificial intelligence race and is nearing the completion of a massive funding round with a valuation that has crossed the $30 billion mark. According to a report published yesterday, Sunday, on The Information website, the chip giant Nvidia is in advanced talks to invest in the company, a move that would reflect a 50% increase in its value in just one year.
Nvidia's growing interest comes against the backdrop of an unprecedented surge in Perplexity's financial performance. The company's Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) has seen a meteoric rise — from less than $250 million at the beginning of the year to more than $750 million today. A significant part of this surge is attributed to the launch of the new AI agent, "Perplexity Computer," which enables advanced automation of computing tasks.
If the deal goes through, Nvidia will join a line of heavy-weight strategic investors who already believe in the company, including Amazon and SoftBank, alongside a massive agreement already signed with Microsoft for the use of Azure cloud infrastructure. While the entire industry is watching the moves of competitors OpenAI and Anthropic with anticipation, Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas clarifies that the company does not intend to wait. The startup has already set a clear goal for the future: an Initial Public Offering (IPO) during 2028, completely independently and without reliance on developments at its market rivals.
