25 spheres in the sky and a giant triangle: cases the Pentagon could not solve

The Pentagon published a new batch of documents, videos, and records concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena, the official term used by the US government for phenomena previously called UFOs. This is the fifth publication under the PURSUE program, established under the direction of President Donald Trump to disclose government material. The collection includes 41 new files originating from the Pentagon, the FBI, the CIA, and the State Department, from the years 1950 to 2026. The Pentagon emphasizes that these are unresolved cases, not proof of the existence of extraterrestrials.

The mysterious spheres over the Gulf of Oman

One of the most prominent documents describes an incident from September 2021, in which the crew of an American AC-130 special operations gunship was conducting live-fire training over the Gulf of Oman. According to a declassified intelligence report, the crew members identified, using infrared sensors, about 25 appearances of objects described as "cold spheres." Some of them moved at low altitudes and at speeds estimated between 250 and 1,300 miles per hour.

The report states that two objects hovered for about 15 seconds over a flare dropped into the sea, and then moved away quickly immediately after the aircraft's 105mm cannon was activated. The crew also reported objects that moved in coordinated formations and performed unusual maneuvers. No propulsion means were observed, and some of the original footage was lost after the aircraft's recording system failed. The case remains unexplained.

A giant triangle over Afghanistan

An FBI document records the testimony of a former military pilot who said that in June 2002, while serving in Afghanistan, he noticed near Bagram Airfield a huge object that blocked the starlight. According to him, the object looked like an equilateral triangle, moved silently from west to east, without lights, and at a constant speed. He estimated its size at about 90 meters. Another pilot who was with him also noticed the phenomenon and asked: "Did you see that?"

Another document describes an observation from October 2023 in Colorado Springs. The witness said he saw a dark and almost transparent triangle passing over his house at an altitude he estimated at about 90 meters. According to him, a kind of visual distortion was seen around the object, resembling an object viewed underwater. The object moved quickly, silently, and for only about four seconds.

In another FBI document, an incident from the current year in the western United States is described. A government agent received a report of a radio frequency reception, pointed a thermal sensor toward the area, and identified two dark objects moving together at the same speed. The observation lasted between five and ten minutes, but it was not possible to estimate their altitude or speed.

"The inclusion of the cases in the database is not a determination that it is non-human technology. The definition 'unresolved' means that the existing information does not allow for a certain conclusion about what was observed," the Pentagon clarified.
