Few know that behind the beloved children's character hides a book with radical nationalist messages, written by an ardent supporter of the Nazi party who used wasps as an antisemitic allegory.

A message received by the Dutch journalist revealed to her the role of a Belgian woman's grandmother in turning in her family during the Holocaust. The search for the truth led to a struggle over documents and testimonies, between family memory and historical research. "Perhaps the time for this is not yet ripe, perhaps it will happen in the next generation."

The "groupies" in Nazi Germany who adored the tyrant were not necessarily attracted to his physical appearance, but desired him because in their eyes he radiated power and control. Particularly persistent women, who obsessively sent him explicit letters, were punished and sent to a concentration camp or labor camp on the grounds that they were "distracting the Führer from his important work."

The 90th anniversary of the 1936 Berlin Olympics marks a controversial chapter in history. Once used as a propaganda tool for the Nazi regime, the Games remain a subject of debate as Germany considers hosting a future Olympic event in the same city.
