Lebanese Army

According to diplomatic sources, Rome has drafted a document outlining the roles of the new international force intended to replace UNIFIL. The Italians propose supporting the Lebanese army logistically and operationally, and assisting it in demilitarization tasks. However, the Lebanese army commander expressed opposition to the latter point.

Jerusalem conveyed a message to Washington through security channels, expressing dissatisfaction with the Lebanese Army's conduct against Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure. According to security sources, the Lebanese Army is not destroying infrastructure at the coordinates provided by the IDF, yet continues to request additional points.

The IDF is criticizing the conduct of the Lebanese army: "They reached the very entrance of the shaft, turned around, and left." The security establishment estimates that 15 Hezbollah terrorists are located under the Ali-Taher ridge. Iran, busy with its own survival, has effectively ceased supporting the organization.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam visited a military base in Tyre and declared that the south must be under the exclusive authority of the state. Background: the dispute over Hezbollah's weapons, Israeli strikes, and the demand for an Israeli withdrawal.
