Police investigators already knew who the "authority man" was who was murdering elderly people in the Krayot, but they lacked the golden evidence to arrest him. In a nerve-wracking race against the clock, they concocted a daring psychological trap inside the police station.

Two horses suffering from extreme hunger, injuries, and appalling conditions were rescued from a closed compound in Kiryat Ata. After their owner ignored inspections and demands to fix the deficiencies, the horses were moved to a protected facility to begin rehabilitation.

Inspectors found the horses suffering from injuries and health problems, and in the stalls, they found contaminated water and no available food. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the owner was repeatedly required to fix the deficiencies but did not do so. The horses were transferred for rehabilitation, and the opening of a criminal investigation is being considered.

Police located a group of residents from the Palestinian territories during an operation to identify illegal aliens in the Coastal District. The suspects, who police say were living and working at the site, were arrested, and their detention was extended until August 10.
