Missing shutters, uninsulated piping, cracks, and dampness—a court in Kfar Saba has ordered a contractor to pay compensation to an apartment buyer. The judge ruled that by ignoring the buyer's requests, the company forfeited its right to repair the defects itself.

Representatives of 12 residential buildings in Herzliya have filed a 20 million shekel lawsuit against Africa Israel Residences, alleging severe construction defects, ventilation failures, and safety hazards. The company denies the claims, asserting that the buildings were delivered in proper condition.

The cumulative cost of repairing construction defects in new apartments reaches 2.2 billion shekels per year, according to an analysis by the company Lead Handasa. According to the findings, 97% of apartments had flooring defects, and 94% had plumbing defects.

The Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva ruled in favor of a family that discovered serious defects in a new apartment purchased from a contractor. The court rejected the contractor's defense and determined that the responsibility for these defects lies solely with him and his spouse.
