Burger King has overtaken Wendy's as the second-largest hamburger chain in the US by sales. This shift follows six consecutive quarters of declining same-store sales for Wendy's.

The main engine behind the strong results is the impressive recovery of the chain in the American and global market. Management expressed optimism and estimates that marketing adjustments will return Popeyes and Tim Hortons to the growth path as early as the second half of the year.

Ariana Hamilton was fired from the burger chain after confronting an Israeli customer, but subsequently raised nearly $100,000 online. Burger King stated it has zero tolerance for antisemitism or discrimination.
