Avi Nesher

Avi Nesher's new film "Our Loves" explores the complex human stories surrounding October 7. Starring Shlomi Koriat, Yaniv Biton, and Maggie Azarzar, the movie has drawn critical acclaim and emotional standing ovations internationally.

The 42nd Haifa International Film Festival unveiled its 2026 lineup featuring major global premieres, Oscar winners, and a tribute to Barbra Streisand.

The Israeli director was interviewed by Variety magazine in honor of his film "Our Loves" being accepted to the prestigious Toronto Film Festival and addressed the claims against Israel in the world: "I highly doubt that the people saying this were on the ground and saw a genocide."

"Our Loves", Avi Nesher's new film about October 7, has been selected as the opening film of the 2026 Haifa Festival. Alongside the premiere, Nesher will receive a lifetime achievement award for his cinematic excellence and contribution to Israeli culture.

The second season was released in full last May, and it appears that ratings did not justify a renewal for a third season. The series followed two spoiled brothers who inherited their late father's criminal empire.

"Our Loves," Nesher’s new film about October 7, was selected for one of the upcoming Toronto Film Festival’s programs—one year after it was marked by pro-Palestinian protests. The film features Shalom Michaeliashvili, Maggie Azarzar, Yaniv Biton, and Daniel Gimpel, a candidate for the Ophir Prize.
