Arab Sector

While in recent years the number of recruits to the police has been increasing, in the Arab sector the trend is the opposite. Data published by the Ministry of National Security and the Israel Police show that in the last four years, recruitment of Arabs, and especially Muslims, to the police has been almost non-existent.

The Prime Minister's Office is leading a large-scale effort to counter the infiltration of criminal organizations into state systems by mobilizing all government ministries, rather than relying solely on law enforcement.

Human rights organizations and the National Committee of Heads of Arab Local Authorities have petitioned the Supreme Court. They demand the cancellation of a 500 million shekel budget cut to the 'Takdum' program and its transfer to the Shin Bet.
