IDF Chief of Staff Visits Wounded Soldiers at Sheba Medical Center Ahead of New Year
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited wounded soldiers at Sheba Medical Center on Tuesday, expressing deep appreciation for their battlefield valor and rehabilitation journey ahead of the New Year.
IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, visited the Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer on Tuesday to meet with wounded IDF soldiers, including commanders and fighters injured in the ongoing war.
Tour and Conversations with Wounded Soldiers
During his visit, the Chief of Staff toured various hospital departments, speaking with the wounded and their families about the circumstances of their injuries, their recovery and rehabilitation processes, and their journeys since being wounded. Zamir expressed his profound appreciation for their spirit, determination, and contribution to national security.
In addition, the Chief of Staff expressed his high esteem for the medical teams, the personnel of the Medical Corps' Branch 2 (R’M 2), and the IDF Casualty Department for their dedicated and vital work.
Chief of Staff's Remarks
Addressing the soldiers, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir stated:
«I came to see you ahead of the New Year, and I am deeply moved by what I have seen here. There are fighters here who stood at the forefront, led, and put their lives at risk in combat facing the enemy — this is battlefield valor.»
Zamir added:
«Now you are in a campaign that requires a different kind of valor: recovering from injury. I and the entire IDF honor your sacrifice and contribution. It is our duty to stand by your side and accompany you on your rehabilitation journey. We are walking together with you every step of the way.»
Concluding his visit, the Chief of Staff said:
«I salute you. May this be a better year: a year of security and hope, a year of unity and victory. A year in which you will continue to stand strong and remain a source of pride for the entire nation.»
