Yinon Magal against Einav Zangauker: "A crude and violent woman, a badge of shame for the Left"
Channel 14 host Yinon Magal harshly attacked Einav Zangauker following the decision by "The Democrats" chairman Yair Golan not to reserve a spot for her on his Knesset list. Magal labeled her a "crude and vulgar woman" and stated that her status within the left-wing camp is a "badge of shame."
Yair Golan, chairman of "The Democrats" party, sparked a storm after announcing his decision not to reserve a spot for Einav Zangauker on the party's list for the upcoming elections. The event drew numerous reactions from both politicians and media figures. Yinon Magal, host of the TV show "The Patriots" on Channel 14, addressed the broken promise, which caused significant anger among left-wing voters, and spoke out against the mother of the hostage.
"I think this is the first correct decision by Yair Golan. Who even thinks of reserving a spot for this woman? Really. The fact that he even considered reserving a spot for her... This is a crude, violent, vulgar woman who hit officers, attacked people, cursed, and spoke in a shocking manner. The fact that she became a star on the Left is a badge of shame for the Left," said Magal.
The Channel 14 host continued his remarks, expressing sharp criticism of the left-wing camp in Israel: "They turned a cursing, blunt woman into a hero. What did she actually do? I'm not even talking about her lack of gratitude. The way she expresses herself... because it's against Benjamin Netanyahu, they turned her into a star. Who thinks she will be a Knesset member? What are you pretending for? If Netanyahu had broken such a promise, they would have called him 'Mr. Abandonment' or 'The one who abandoned the hostages' mothers'."
In an official statement published by Golan on the social network X, he wrote:
"Einav, you are dear to my heart. I appreciate and cherish you very much for the courage, determination, and strength with which you led a struggle that saved lives. I know that my decision disappointed you, and I am deeply sorry for that. It was my decision, and I bear full responsibility for it and for the pain it caused you."
Golan further stated: "I decided not to use my right to reserve spots out of respect for the decision of 113,000 members of The Democrats and out of trust in the excellent list they chose. This is a decision I made regarding the entire list, and other candidates who were considered for reserved spots also received the same message from me: there will be no reserved spots. But I hope our path has not ended. We have a big struggle ahead for the character and future of this country — for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry, for replacing the government of failure, and for the rehabilitation of Israel. I offered you to take a significant role in the campaign and continue with us in action even after the elections. This offer stands. I see you as an important partner on this path, and I hope you will choose to accept it and that we will do much more together."
